Achieving Discipline

Thursday, February 28, 2013 (7:15 AM - 11:30 AM)

Discipline is the behavior that strengthens all the other success behaviors

Top personal development coach Richard Flint will show you how to achieve more discipline at the February 28th Sales and Marketing International Minnesota meeting.

What is the lack of discipline doing to your personal and professional life? Richard Flint, CSP, one of America’s top personal development coaches and speakers, explains that, “When you can’t control yourself, you can’t control the speed of your life, the direction you are moving, or the results you are creating. The result will be life looking over its shoulder and not prepared for the today you are living.” He adds that, “It’s time to learn how to hold your own feet to the fire.”

On February 28, Flint will present his popular Achieving Discipline seminar designed to help all participants become more focused so that they may achieve their goals. “For many people, the biggest challenge to achieving discipline is controlling the distractions that bombard their life,” says Flint, who travels more than 210 times per year to coach businesses and individuals throughout the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Great Britain and Spain. “Without discipline, you can’t sustain your focus and maintain your balance. Excuses replace expectations, and a sense of frustration sets in.”

In this seminar, Flint will cover what destroys most people’s discipline – from distractions to procrastination and lack of planning – and more importantly, how to become a more disciplined person. “You must dedicate yourself to your crusade,” he explains. “That means learning such skills as staying at a manageable pace; partnering with positive, driven people; investing in expanding your knowledge; and entering each day prepared for the day.”

Achieving Discipline seminar attendees will get valuable advice for:
•    Controlling distractions
•    Stretching their imagination
•    Developing resilience
•    Sharpening their focus

The regular association meeting with Richard Flint as our guest speaker will begin at 7:45 a.m. at The Woman’s Club main dining room, and Richard Flint’s workshop (Achieving Discipline) will follow at 9:00 a.m. A hot buffet breakfast will be served beginning at 7:30 a.m.

Born in New Orleans and adopted at the age of 2 weeks old, Richard spent his young life struggling to win the affections of a mother who didn’t want him. At the tender age of 16, his father handed him a suitcase and sent him on his way. Looking deep within himself to summon the courage to move forward in his life, Richard realized that he had a choice; he could listen to the “negative tapes” his mother programmed into him or he could take his mother’s opinions as a challenge and prove her judgments of him wrong. And before he even had a driver’s license, he had made the conscious decision to create a course for his life that would push him to excel in everything he reached for.
